Ark Customers Win World Series of Team Roping Event
Congratulations to Ark Country Store customers Bobby Weir and Shane Boston who won the World Series of Team Roping on December 14 in Las Vegas, NV! This event, the Bloomer Trailers #10 – Low Amateur World Series of Team Roping Finales VII was the first time Shane and Bobby entered together as a team. Shane had competed previously with another partner, for Bobby this was his first time competing at the World Series of Team Roping. Both Bobby and Shane brought and competed with their their own horses.
Team roping also known as heading and heeling is a rodeo event that features a steer and two mounted cowboys or cowgirls. The first roper is referred to as the “header,” the person who ropes the front of the steer, usually around the horns; the second is the “heeler,” who ropes the steer by its hind feet. Shane is the first roper, the header; and Bobby is the second roper, or heeler.
Shane grew up around the sport, watching it. Bobby says he just sort of fell into it. Both Shane and Bobby compete in team roping as a hobby, participating in events monthly as their schedules allow.
Shane and Bobby are valued customers at Ark Country Store where they purchase horse tack and supplies along with deer and wildlife feeds. Congratulations Shane and Bobby!
